Well, do it now or grow old. Your nightmares only need a year or two to unfold.

Today, I was sitting, lazily doodling while my history prof lectured about the difference between states and nations and the factors one must consider... and then I believe I learned how to sleep with my eyes open. It's a skill, I must say, that all students have to learn at some point.

Anyway, I heard someone mention how the next war memorial trip was going to go to Amsterdam and how badly people our age wanted to go, but missed out simply because we're a year too old.

Then, I pulled out my handy dandy map of the world and decided what places I'd like to visit. In the big picture, I'd like to see Australia (for the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, the Great Barrier Reef, and Sydney Opera House) and perhaps China (for the Great Wall). I especially like India (for the Manas Wildlife Sanctuary, the Valley of Flowers National Park, and the Taj Mahal). Yet, I've decided, if it had to be narrowed down to 5 countries, this is what I've got:

  1. All over Italy .....
  2. ..... and England (even though I've been to England no less than a million times. They're thinking of kicking me out for loitering)
  3. Paris, France (for the Eiffel Tower; oh, how I'd love to kiss up high on the Eiffel Tower! In Chanel, of course, because I'm nothing, if not a Coco devotee)
  4. The Maritimes region of Canada (for both Gros Morne National Park and L'Anse aux Meadows in Newfoundland [all of Newfoundland, to be honest with you], as well as Lunenberg in Nova Scotia)
  5. The United States of America (resorts in Hawaii and California and hotels in New York City, specifically; I want a bit of the East coast, a bit of the West coast, and a bit of Oceania)

I thought about it and realized my friend, who's taking a gap year next year, wanted to see everything -- every country, every region, literally everywhere. I decided that I need to get her a little safari hat (for Africa and Australia), a big furry parka (for Antarctica), a ski do (for the little islands in the great big blue), a big designer wallet (for the oh-so-snooty North Americans), a ticket to the wax spa (for South America -- you know, the whole Brazil thing), a kimono and a nice pair of glass chopsticks, as well as a sari (for Asia), and then, lots of bread and wine and, of course, a beret (for Europe).

Now, if I'm missing anything, be sure to let me know!

Not only because you're the only person to have commented on my blog in, I dunno, approx. one year!--I have decided that you are the awesome person of the week, haha. Ham it up.

That's funny that you're a dress up kind of girly-girl, because I am NOT. I like to look nice, but the whole production is a little tedious.

I like this post. I want to see the world too, but isn't it such a cliche now? Everyone wants to see the tourist attractions, but no one wants to LIVE like they do. I'm a staunch supporter of the "When in Rome" philosophy.

For instance, if I went to some place like England (which i would LOVE to) I would want to see places the locals hang out...see how life is different there. I know I sound stupid, but do you know what I'm talking about?

Well, I'd better stop wasting your comment space. ttyl! xD

I don't blog, no interest, so I'm surprised I decided to comment, especialy considering everything I had to figure out to get to this point.

I found your blog by accident. I was looking at images and there you were. I confess I only skimmed your content but having read your comments and, I assume, self responses down the right hand collum, I get the impression you have run into some shallow men.

I couldn't say I have had all those eperiences and I hope to be spared some, but I know that my responses would have been different than those you listed. I hope I have misunderstood and that they are not a misty window to your inner self.

I may or may not come back to your blog again and you may not read any value in this contact from someone who thinks he heard something in what you had to say, but it seemed to me you needed to hear that some of us at least try to be better than the picture you painted.

Goodbye and may your life and heart be full.
